Oh man am I pissed right now. This movie was awful! The critics agree, "Finally, an honest film!" Yeah, they left out the part where people go to movies to escape. If I wanted to watch a movie about relationships not working, with lots of screaming and hurt feelings and jealousy, then I'll rent the home video of my life. Vince, what the hell dude?
However, I will give the movie this, when Vince Vaughn is in funny mode, he's unstoppable. Problem is, he's rarely in funny mode in this movie. Everybody that walked out of the theater with us was grumbling just like we were. Vince, I ask you again, what the hell?

SPOILER WARNING*********SPOILER WARNING************SPOILER WARNING!!!

Don't continue if you don't want to know the ending to the movie!!!

This movie doesn't have a happy Hollywood ending.  It is realistic in the sense that many of the things that Vince Vaughn said I have said or thought when a relationship was sliding downhill.  And it was realistic, and a little shocking, when they don't get back together at the end of the movie.  They both acted like little children fighting over a toy and it should not have suprised me when they broke their relationship beyond all repair.  But I was expecting the standard Hollywood movie, and this wasn't it.  It was more like a European "arty" movie.

Don't go without a Universal Remote like Adam Sandler has in Click: "I fast-forwarded through the whole fight!"

whoa thats interesting. I heard stuff about how they previewed audiences with the ending, them not working out, and everyone hated it, so that the movie now ends with this alternate ending where they get back together ... I haven't gone to see it but was under the impression it ended happily. too many people telling me different things

edit: my mom went to go see it. I was surprised it ended with them broken up. you'd think hollywood would have made them get back together somehow. she said it was okay and my stepdad said vince was pretty funny but both weren't thriled. they are bad judges with that stuff though
