What did you guys think of this movie? I liked it for several reasons: 1. Marky Mark and George Clooney both buy it in the end. 2. It proves that all the optimism in the world is no match for stupidity 3. Marky Mark and George Clooney both buy it in the end. 4. With the exception of the one ANG guy who died, everyone gets what they deserved. 5. Marky Mark and George Clooney both buy it in the end. |

"Cruising World" magazine debunked the sailboat captain part of the movie (the book was even more harsh). The women aboard called the coasties every time he fell asleep. The boat was rigged for the storm and was perfectly safe. The women were scared to death but were quite safe. The boat washed ashore barely damaged in New Jersey. I sail, if in a storm you get on MY radio on MY boat against my orders that radio would go overboard. That ANG Para rescue jumper died as a direct result of those womens willfull disobedience of the skippers orders. They should be tried for homicide in my book. I have read the book as well. Both the film and the book were quite good. But the author even disavowed the story aboard the sailboat as he admitted to not interviewing the skipper. |
