Saw it last night with the wife. I wouldn't call it a horror masterpiece but it was very good, it had a few really solid scares that I think would be less effective in home cinema because of the sound. I did actually jump on one of them though so props to them for that. Cinematography was excellent and created a really great atmosphere for the whole film. Solid acting too.
Still need to see Django and Zero Dark Thirty though... ETA: IMDB Link - BA |

I saw it at the late show, IMAX, last night and enjoyed it too. You're right about the home theater comment, the sound was so loud / musical score it made my stomach drop a few times throughout the movie.
It was refreshing considering I usually have to go see some dumb comedy or chick flick with the wife. I went by myself. Something about the woods / forest / cabin made it creepy - waiting to see that new "Evil Dead" remake to compare the two flicks. |
