Anyone seen it?
Worth a trip to the theater? |
|
My GF and I watched it in 3D last night. It was pretty good, possibly the best one so far. She hasn't seen any of the previous ones and went into it blind. The swift paced recap at the beginning caught her up just enough to enjoy the movie and now she wants to see the others. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Saw it this morning. The recap was convenient. I had commented to my wife that it had been a while since I'd seen any of them. She didn't know there had been a prequel.
I didn't have high hopes, I just enjoy this particular series for it's style, and I was pleased. It was pretty typical of the other films in the series. I wish it was bit longer and that they had expanded upon the plot a little more. They set it up for another sequel, but at 3 years between films, they're really drawing things out. If Chuck was going to be back next season, I'd half expect to see Kate as one of the baddies. We had lunch and then went to see The Artist. It's been a diverse movie day. |

It was pretty dang good! Pretty graphic in parts. Action was great, they worked on Selene's fighting and gun-handling a lot since the first two movies. She's quite the convincing bad-ass now. Her escape in the first part of the film reminded me of Elfin Leid. Whole lot of people found out they got in the way of a pissed off vampire!
And throughout, I kept saying to myself "good Gawd Daymn, is she fooking hawt!" |

I thought the plot was pretty lame. The action was good, though. Worth it for the action and because its Underworld (Kate didn't hurt either). Did anyone else notice that the cop guy carried a Judge? I couldn't believe that. Yeah, and he shot past capacity with it too. What was that shotgun he had right before that? I almost thought it was a KSG....? Quite a bit of good gun pron in the movie. |

The movie was meh. Pretty much a ripoff of Resident Evil. Heroine with superpowers wakes up in a lab, eventually has to kill a lab created monster. Have you not seen the previous movies in the series? They have the characters and world pretty well established.... |

And the ending scene with the 3 of them on top on the heli pad reminded me of the last scene on the ship in the last Resident Evil. Movie was too short. Needed more on the plot. Her auto pistols had hundred round drums attached to them. I'd like to see her to a tactical reload. No matter how many times uber-lycan hit her, she came out unharm. She balls a frag in her fist and punches a hole in his gut. What a sweet, PVC covered ass. |

It was aweful.
Ok, first the movie was billed as humans vs lycans and vampires. Instead the human part of it is nothing more than the first few minutes of the movie. If the first few minutes of the movie had been carried on to have the whole story be about man's war against lycans and vampires it could have been cool. Instead, we end up with what pretty much just looked like a video game complete with Boss battles. Full retard. I couldn't care less about any characters...zero character development, which is full retard after having had multiple previous movies to develop characters they should have kept. The guy who plays Lord Tywin Lannister in HBO's "Game of Thrones" was in it and I know he can act, but they gave him nothing work with. What a waste of talent that was. Don't pay theater prices to see this movie. Get it as rental when there is nothing else worth watching or wait for it on netflix. |

I sort of agree with Silent. I wanted to see humans hunting down the lycans and vampires, I mean the first few minutes but fucking awesome but after that it kind of fell off. I went to see it for kate in pvc and lots of gunplay but the story was kind of meh and it was far too short. I also got a very Twilight vibe from that girl. Needed more purging. The movie made it sound like vampires and lycans went out in the open and began to openly convert humans in an attempt to resist. |
