That looks a million times better than the first 3 abortions. First.....Don't lump 1 and 2 in with 3. I don't belive comic book movies would be as mainstream as they are today without X-men 1. Granted it was a little under the radar, BUT it made people realize that a comic book movie could be made without being completely campy. 2 built on all of this, then 3 shit on it so meh. this trailer looks pretty good. I'll go see. On a side note...Wolverine one blew.....But I have a lot of hope for Wolverine 2 as Darren Arnovsky is involved. |

This movie looks "Reasonable", accepting the fiction that the SR-71 flew below 10,000 feet at times. And I skipped the first Wolverine movie. |

Great. Another prequel movie.
But really, where could they go after the last one in the trilogy? The little teaser at the end that looked like Magneto was getting his powers back just proved that EVERYONE who was killed pretty much died for nothing. Meh....no one stays dead in comics....ever.... There's over 40 yrs of material they can use. I have no issues with them going back and doing a prequel. Maybe it'll make us forget about movie 3. |

I guess you can only do so many prequels before you either catch up to part one, or actually touch the big Bang.... They'll figure it out so they can continue whipping the piss out of this cash cow. |

I had to just to see if they tied up that particular dangling question from his ethical discussion with his students earlier in the movie. They did not fail to be formulaic. Of course, Jean should also still be alive under Alkali Flat's floodplain, too, if they follow the comic storyline at all. |

My Review:
Excellent movie and worth the price of admission. One of the summer blockbusters you should take the time to see. The character development of the primary stars is very well done and I felt that enough was done with the secondary characters to make you care about what happened to them. The plot is perfect and ties in so well with the other X-Men. In my opinion it was the best X-Men movie yet. My only complaint was that I felt it tied up a little to nicely and I'm not sure we'll see anymore prequels, because I really want now to see more X-Men "First Class" done.

Quoted: Quoted: those clips of the individual X-men were cool by why do I fear the X-men siding with communist Cuba against the US? ![]() Uhh, doesnt that look like a Soviet sub Magento is picking up as well as they deployed from a SR-71? (I know its all ridiculous) I hope so, fuckin' dirty commies |

Saw it with my 21 year old son yesterday and we both liked it a lot. Great cameo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. [url=http:// I loved the Wolverine cameo. Made me laugh Thor was very entertaining and well done. X Men is good as well, but it had very wooden acting and cliched dialogue for basically all of the human characters. Only the mutants were fleshed out, 3 dimensional characters, all the humans were cardboard cutouts. |

On the way out to see it now.....
ETA: Just back in and thoroughly enjoyed it.... think Mystique was a little "too nice" compared to the following films and a lot of the cast were there as padding.... Other than that, another to add to the DVD (Blu Ray when I get round to buying one) collection... |

I just saw it and enjoyed it. I liked it more than Thor. I don't know what someone who didn't read X men as a kid would make of it. Was Kevin Bacon's character a previous comic book villian or was he created for the movie? Him, Darwin and the girl with the wings I didn't recognize. There have been a bunch of tornado type guys so I didn't know if that was a pre-existing character. I was surprised to see Moira MacTaggert show up. Although it was weird that he wasn't scottish I liked the kid who played Banshee

Sebastian Shaw was a comic book character, but I believe they changed his origin for the movie. |

Darwin and Angel are existing characters, fairly new, but existing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darwin_%28comics%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Salvadore and based on one of the powers mentioned in the article for Darwin I don't think he's dead, or at the very least if they decided to bring him back they can even if they initially intended for him to be dead |
| Finally got around to seeing it, and while I thought it was exceptional, I was still a little bummed. I really wish that the first x-men movies hadn't taken the cast and done what they did with their characters. The list of characters for first class are not the original x-men, Best is the only original. Again this isn't First Classes fault, it's that of it's predecessors but I give it two thumbs up for taking what it had and working with it. At least it wasn't one of those forget about the other movies that came before it reboots. |

Anyway interesting to see communists as actual movie bad guys.
