Redrum,  I always love that part of the Shining.  Kubrick changed stuff from the movie I still like it a lot.  What do you guys think?  I have collectors edition and I guess Shelley Duvall got wound a little tight during filming.

I never realized that the inside of the hotel in the movie was all a set.  None of the inside shots were from the hotel used for the exterior shots.

I didnt know that either. I would think it would have been much cheaper to just film in a hotel.

I just saw that the hall where Jack is writing "all work and no play" was later used as the set for the scene in Indiana Jones where he falls in the pit full of snakes. They used massive lights to make it seem like the hall had windows. insane.

I've seen this movie several times over the years, and each time I wonder why everyone likes it so much.

One of Kubrick's best, IMO along with 2001.  When Jack goes into room 237 (or whatever) and the beautiful woman gets out of  the tub.
