Anyone ever find a BluRay disc that would not play in their BluRay player?
I have a Sony BDP-S560 which does not want to play Starship Troopers. To be fair to Sony, there was a note in the manual about how BluRay was an emerging technology so there might be some discs that would not play. Is this something a software update would fix? Thanks. |

I believe there's an issue with some of the BR Starship Troopers discs, I have the same problem with my Panasonic player. I noticed WalMart pulled them all off the selves. Must be a bad run. ETA - Sony screwed the pooch, BR version of ST needs player to have a blank memory card installed. Did yours seem to start to load up them just stop? |

However, this one is a used disc that I bought from a BlockBuster that is going out of business so I figure the disc is not likely the problem. EDIT- I spoke too soon. I updated the firmware and the disc still does not play. Perhaps it is a bad disc. I thought since it was once a rental someone would have complained and BlockBuster would have pulled it from circulation. Does any one have a BluRay player that will play Starship Troopers? If so what is the make and model? Thanks. |

Found the fix for Panasonic players, might be something similar with Sony. Link Link about Sony's fix |

Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, it did not work with my 1gb usb drive which is partially full. I am going to get a 4gb like every body in the link and try again. UPDATE- I picked up a new flash drive to leave attached to the player. I also figured out the BDP-S560 has two USB ports and I was plugging into the wrong one. Now SST plays just fine.
