Quoted: ... Do you think it will be a 24/7 Church service with everyone bowing at Jesus' feet worshiping Him for all eternity?... Maybe something like that... only instead of wondering when will this sermon end?/what's for lunch?/will I make it home in time for the game on TV?/what's this funny itch I never noticed before?/why would Sister Jones buy that hat, let alone wear such a thing?, we'll be fully intent/focused on worshipping our Lord and completely satisfied unlike anything in this life has ever done. JMHO. When my soul is singing in that promised land above, I'll be satisfied... Praising Christ the Savior for redeeming grace and love, I'll be satisfied... CHORUS: I'll be satisfied, I'll be satisfied, When my soul is resting in the presence of the Lord, I'll be satisfied. Living in a city where the soul shall never die, I'll be satisfied... There to meet with loved ones never more to say good-bye, I'll be satisfied... CHORUS When I meet the ransomed over on the golden shore, I'll be satisfied... There I'll join the angels singing praises ever more, I'll be satisfied... CHORUS (One of my favorite hymns, BTW. |

I am more than likely wrong here, but does the Bible talk some where about the work we will do with are hands , will not be in vain - as in we can build thing just like on earth now ?
Not that that is that important, I just remember reading stuff that made it seem similar to the earth now - only it will be the earth God made in the first place before sin. I cant put into words what it will be like to see Jesus, in fact in makes me nervous lol I know it should not but it does. I am also am looking forward to talking to Paul - !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One thing that has made me think sometimes is when The Bible says that at the end of the 1000 yr Millenium there will be people that were born during the 1000 yrs that turn rebellious against Jesus. And God will let Satan loose to talk some of these people into one last rebellion against Jesus in Jerusalem. Of course this does not work out well for them, and they are cast into the lake of fire. But I find this amazing that even after Satan is in the bottomless pit and people are at peace for a 1000 years - There is STILL one more try at defeating God

If heaven will be here, on this earth then that opens up a whole world of questions (at least for me).
I thought "absent from the body, present with the lord." In other words, the instant a believer dies, he is right away with Jesus. But if heaven isn't "out there in space somewhere" but rather here, in the future, then what happens to a believer who dies now (or has already died?) I know that the SDA's believe in something called "Soul Sleep" which, althoughtI'm not a SDA, I can kind of agree is rather possible, if this is the case. I also know that there is no such thing as marriage (except to the Lord) but I would really want to spend eternity with my wife and daughter (and our beloved pets). And I realize there are those out there who believe that animals don't have souls and therefore can't exist in eternity, but I don't want to believe that. Sorry for the thread hijack. |

Heaven….hmmmm I kind of think that it will be a place where there will be plenty of time for people to gather via an electronic super highway of some kind and heatedly discuss the finer points of theology....for eternity.
Ok, no not really. I do know that my King will be there.... and he has been working on it for a long time. I won’t be a sinful cocky punk full of lust and pride! Tons of my personal hero’s there! I like to think we’ll get to shoot skeet…while flying or something crazy. It will be like a super awesome family reunion with our Abba Father. We will be his adopted children…clothed in His righteousness…forgiven and redeemed. All the old junk gone and everything new! Did I mention my King will be there?...and I will get to look upon His face! Other then that I’ve always been a fan of surprises! Now, if I can better live here so that the world might see in me a confidence and hope of life everlasting in Jesus Christ! |

I expect to be very busy. I see service as an eternal principle, and I expect to be engaged in it on a regular basis in heaven.
I see much of the social interactions we enjoy here existing there, only in a more refined manner. I see my family unit continuing there, with my wife at my side for all eternity. I see us enjoying the literal presence of God, of course. I see us having a dwelling of sorts. Not sure how it will be furnished, since I don't know about resurrected bodies requiring such things as sleep or food. I doubt we will have need for food, but it will be just a bit more "heavenly" if we can still enjoy it. As for transportation, I don't know exactly how that will work, but I imagine it will be absolutely efficient. |

The kingdom of heaven will be what the Garden of Eden was supposed to be. God is going to fulfill His plan for the earth and humanity. We are just in a brief interlude acting like bratty children. A believer that dies now is dead. We hope for resurrection at the last trumpet. The resurrection will be the same resurrection that Jesus had, i.e. a physical bodily resurrection. |
