Long story short...I have been having some heart problems with supraventricular tachycardia with a heart rate up to 187+.  I found out today that I am being referred for pacemaker or ablation.  I am only 28 years old and have a family to live for.  Please keep me in your prayers!  Thanks!

Prayers inbound!

My dad had that problem.  He had a Radio Frequency Ablation (RF ablation) and his problem is gone now.  Of course, he is 65, and not 28.

I work in a Cath Lab, and we insert pacemakers and AICDs (Automatic Implantable Cardiac Defibrilators).  If the Electrophysiologist you see wants to put a device in instead of trying the RF ablation first, you will most likely get an AICD, as a pacemaker won't do much good for someone with SVT.  The pacemaker part is for people with slow heartbeats, bradycardia. The defibrilator part is for folks with too-fast heartbeats.

If you have any questions or want to talk, just IM me.

Thanks for the prayers guys.  It looks like I will finally be seeing a cardiologist really soon.  I got approved for one to see me through an agency since I have no health insurance.
