I had overhauled the engine in '07 due to a catastrophic valve failure.  This took out #1 GP so I replaced all 4 along with injector nozzles.  It was running without any issues until last week when I got a MIL which wouldn't clear.  The DTC indicated intermittent GP system failure so I pulled the relay.  Points were worn so I used my spare, still had the persistent DTC.

Pulled the GP harness and #1 was open.  Replaced with a used but otherwise functional spare.  Cold resistance identical to the newer ones as well as the time to 10 amps, about 6 seconds.  This tests the time for current to drop to 10 amperes running current since the GP relay measures health of each plug.

Engine runs fine, wonder how long the other newer plugs will last?

No real way to know how long the others will last, sounds like the #1 GP was a defective part. In most cases I normally replace the GP's as a group along with a new GP harness and relay. This has been the most reliable fix, especially for intermittent DTC's.
