Any of you guy's ever tackled replacing a convertible top? Just picked up a 67 Newport for a daily driver but the top is abit worse than I thought.Don't have the cash right now for a profesional install but I couldn't pass on a running driving relatively rust free convertible for 800 bucks.Even with a torn top and a full leopard print interior, right down to the visors it was a good deal.Ive named it Ike .The top is good mechanically.Any tips or suggestions? I don't mind a few wrikles as long as it's weathertight.I'll get it done properly next year after the body and paint work is done.

Wow, one of my favorite c-bodies.
If it hasn't rusted away, that is a very good deal.

There was an article a few years back on putting one on an e-body. The hardest part is the adjustments. The phsyical putting it on was not that bad. But you need a staple gun and a lot of patients.

I took apart 2 68 sport fury convertibles, and the hardest part is getting that big chrome trim and the strip under it off the car. The screws are generally rusted up and either strip or break on you when you try to remove it.

Did you have the factory manual to guide you on the Sport Furies or just took notes during disassembly? I think i'll take it on,i'm confident that with patience and some online guidance from some of the Mopar forums i'll get her dicked.I pick up the beast tomorow
How she looks now

The look i'm going for (though I may go with a dark gunmetal grey)
