Opinions?

We got a new Cornwell dealer today, he had a hell of a truck with a lot of stuff, I haven't bought anything yet though.

Overall quality and performance of the tools is number one to me.  I don't mind paying for quality, so long as it works.  I've put at least one of my Snap-on dealer's kids through college with that philosophy, but that's another thread.

Out of the 4 major tool dealers

snap-on
Matco
Mac
Cornwell

I would rate cornwell on the bottem of the list for most all of their tools and tool storage.

That's about how it currently lines up for me, but to be fair, I wanna give Cornwell and the dealer a chance before casting them off.

I'm not impressed at all at their roll carts or tool boxes, but I own a Snap-on KRL so I'm a little biased in that regard.

Some of their stuff is fantastic.  Some of it not so much.  I'd put corny on top of Mac.

Their torx bits and such appear to be manufactured by Hazet.  Top shelf stuff.  I don't like their wrenches, or tool boxes, but I do have a cornwell cart.  Of course it was the same cart being sold by matco and others at the time.

My past dealers were great, and I bought a lot of tools from them.  My current dealer thinks he drive a snap on truck if ya know what I mean.

Matco toolboxes > everyone.

Why yes Quintin, I do see that you fixed it.

Matco - been doing business with them for years. Only one to not try to screw with me. Tool quality is high. Customer service is by far the best.
Snap-On - got screwed over hard on my first purchase - paid $1800 for a damaged toolbox they fucked up in shipping. Took an act of God to finally get new box. Traded it to Matco the same week it arrived. The quality of their tools is nice but after the first experience, I never looked back. Lots of koolaid drinkers imo. Paying for a name
Cornwell - Quit using these clowns after the last time i ordered a friggin air blower. IT took a month for the dealer to remind himself to order me one after i paid him. When it came in, it was the wrong one. See Snap-On above. Their toolboxes look like they are from the 1950s to me. Tool Quality isnt anything special.
Mac Tools - don't have one here anymore. Never done business with them

I would rate them all in that order.

I upgraded myself since trading in that Crap-On box for a two bay Matco to a new three bay 6S:

old box

new box

They make good tools  but like most of the big tool makers they'er a pain in the ass to find when you need them.

About five years ago I had to chase a Snap-On guy across town to get something I needed.
After that I started to buy Craftsman, sometimes not as good as the others but you will never have to chase a Sears.
