Just curious how folks do it. I'm looking to buy a motorcycle soon (probably standard or cruiser, because of the insurance premiums). Seems like a shoulder holster under your jacket is the way to go. |
|
If you carry at all (no way you can effectively use a pistol on two wheels), I would go with a tank bag or shoulder holster. I wouldn't want to take a spill with a solid piece of steel jabbing into my hip at my normal 4 o'clock IWB carry position. P.S. Get a standard. |
Gonna hurt if you land on it
Tank bag is the way to go. Check out the units that use a replacement tank ring from twisted throttle.com. I used a tank bag on my v-strom. The new sprint however has a small locking box built into the fairing that the PPS fits in nicely. I had a large set of keys in my pocket when I wrecked a buddies 200x three wheeler. After I extracted a cople of the keys from my thigh, I don't think I've carried anything that I didn't want to land on. |
| I bought my LCP with the motorcycle in mind. Very nice to just zip it up in a pocket and go. Otherwise, I will have a gun in either a Maxpedition strapped to the tail, or in the tank bag. Not real accessible, and I prefer to keep the gun on my person for many reasons, so the LCP is pretty much my default Bike Gun now. |
