Under the criteria you mention, not worth it at all.

Unless you're going to do some modding including a new pipe, or try to wring out some performance, it's a lot of money to spend if al you're doing is casual riding.

It's a neat tool to be able to tweak your bike and can be helpful if it's not running right, but is that something you need? Sounds like no.

nope
especially if you bike is full stock

if you have a pipe and feel that you need an extra 3-4hp accross the band then nock yourself out

if its a commuter then its not worth it
$300 for the unit and another $300 to tune it (could be less or more depending on place)

enjoy it and ride it.

Since you have a pipe you may want the additional HP beyond that the Power Commander can be helpful if your injection map has any factory flaws. My 04 DL1000 had a stumble around 3k rpms . The PC smoothed it out.

I have a TL-1000-S, with a Power Commander.

I have a K+N filter and Yoshimura slip ons.

On my bike it was absolutely worth it.

The TL-1000-S was the bike that Power Commander was originally designed for.

At 3,000 rpms the stock injection map leans out and the bike "stumbles". It's very odd, because if you get 100 rpms on either side of that the bike is fine.

The Power Commander helped, but didn't eliminate that problem.

Also, it like DOUBLED the idle HP and TRIPLED the idle TQ, making the going from a standing start a clutch-throttle dance to a much simpler launch.

If you are just commutting, and you don't have issues, I wouldn't mess with it.
