looking for new tires for my wife's Jetta. Nothing crazy, just a nice all season touring tire.

Local goodyear shop has these in stock for a good price with a mail-in rebate... putting them around the same price as the house brand primewell tires that another local shop carries... (around $60/ea mounted, balanced, valve stem, disposal, etc)

any info on these tires? will they do the job?

i just want something good to last her for maybe 2 years tops... all of her driving is highway...

I have noticed that goodyears dont balence out as well, and are a little rough ridding.

the brands that i prefer are michelin and continental

Decent, you could do better and spend more, but you could also do much worse than Goodyear.  I'd avoid 'house brands' and other cheap, shitty tires.

At best they are just OK, most never last more than 30-35 k miles. I get my tires at Costco, if i'm goting to keep the car I buy Michelins, have a set on my old F150 have 100k on them and still have some tread left. Other option is the B.F. Goodrich tires at Costco they wear alot better than Goodyears.

Other thing to remember is Costco's price INCLUDES mounting, balencing and filling with nitrogen. Most shops will charge you $20-25 a tire to mount and balence especially if you didn't but the tires from them.
