| I just changed the cabin air filter in my 9 year old car. Man it was disgusting! I never knew this filter even existed until I stumbled on to it on Al Gore's internet. My manual says nothing about these things. If you have an older car I highly recommend doing this. The AC and Heat smell so much better with the new filter. |
| I have one in my 2000 Pontiac Montana minivan and my wife's 2005 Kia Amanti. They are a fortune to replace, like $30 each. Once a month I take them out and shoot them with some compressed air. They kill the dust really well, and I've never had any odor issues with them. |
The 2005-up Mustang have cabin air filters, as do the Ford Focus. However the Crown Vic doesn't have one. |
| When buying your replacement filter, pay attention to what you're buying. I noticed when I bought one for my VW, some filters are just paper while some are charcoal. I'm not sure how much difference there really is, but supposedly the charcoal filter removes a lot of odors and stuff like that, while the paper filter only catches pollen and dust. |

My mother's car has a fancy air filtration system in it that probably jacked the price up by $1500 or more. And she drives around with the sunroof and the back windows open. During pollen season. As we were driving around yesterday, I kept trying to think of a way to adequately convey the idiocy of this, between sneezes, but words failed me. Galland |
