...is not a word that I thought that I would ever apply to my Roadmaster. Comfortable...sure. Fast...we can say it is fast. Good for touring...well, it IS a Roadmaster, after all. Good looking...yup! All day long! However, at 900+ pounds, "nimble" is not a word that really comes to mind.

Until today.

The wife and I decided to ride down to VA Beach and visit Jollibee. We took I-64 down, and decided to take the longer, more scenic route up through Suffolk and Norfolk on the way back. While we were making our way out of the traffic, one of the cars in the left lane decided to make a left turn. I saw the brake lights come on, so I moved to the right of my lane and rolled off the throttle. I was in the middle lane of the road. Apparently, the car that was behind the one making the left turn was too busy Facebooking or Snapchating or texting or beating off or whatever the **** they were doing OTHER than driving to notice that the car in front of them was

a) signaling for a turn and,
b) slowing down with brakes applied.

Once they notice that they are about to violate the laws of physics regarding two physical masses occupying the same space at the same time, as well as a couple of traffic laws, they decide that their best course of action is to swerve into my lane, THEN notice than I am there, AND THEN STOP.

So, in the left lane is the car making the turn. Behind them and now taking up most of my lane as well is the idiot cager who is now parked at about a 45 degree angle in front of me, and probably already anticipating getting hit by 954 lbs of motorcycle with two adult human beings riding it that is rapidly approaching at 35-40 mph.

I barely had time to think, and honestly the first thing through my mind was "I haven't even hit 500 miles yet!!!" So, I swerved right as hard and as fast as I could, then swerved left once I cleared the car, the whole time thinking that I am going to lose a lower or a saddlebag. Fortunately, we made it through with no damage, didn't even scrape the floorboards.

So, yeah, nimble.

I am also fairly certain that I have more lean angle or clearance than I did with my Shadow, due to the floorboards being stock and not aftermarket additions.
