Wasn't thinking and was refilling my WR250R and realized I had 87 octane like I was filling my car. Realized my mistake and switched over to 91. Net result is the bike got .4 gallon of 87 in a 2 gallon tank. The manual calls for 91 or higher. I figure it is robust enough for this slight duh moment right? I topped it off with another gallon today so it really should only have a tiny bit of "87" in it.

What you guys think, no big deal, or should I drain the tank?

Thanks

I would think you would be fine.

No worries. I've used regular unleaded in dirt bikes several times when that's all I could get.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Maybe buy some octane booster if you really want to. Bikes have been run on some crappy gas and not broke before. Listen for excessive pinging, if you hear some stop and do something else.

You'd get spark knock if the octane of the fuel was too low, it would be pretty obvious.

It's fine.

Are you sure thats not just the RON or MON octane rating? All my bikes have had a printed requirement of 91, but in the US our pumps are labeled with the average of the two ratings (meaning in most cases you can run 87 by the US standard). That said a half gallon of 87 wont hurt it.
Edited for spelling/ clarity.

It's going to explode. Piston chunks shooting thru the block, rod chunks flying out of the cases, mechanical carnage will be rampant.

J/k

Go ride your bike.

Keep the revs up and don't lug the engine to avoid spark knock.  You'll be fine.

I know several WR riders who use nothing but 87, never an issue.  Very experienced riders and mechanically knowledgeable

Run it.
Half the world has never   EVER seen  better than 87 Octane.

You'll be fine.

I've had to fill up my WR250R with 87 a few times when that's all that was available in some remote desert locations.

Didn't notice any difference, except the price
