I like 80's 90's dash design almost universally
By in large they were simple, functional had places for misc stuff and every function had its own dedicated space on the dash and button. They also tended to wear very well back in the days of a GASP! Plastic interiors. |

Porsche has a much more logical and intuitive layout. Well thought out design. Similar to the older 90's and 00 layouts (minus a navi, of course). The instrument layout is good, but Porsche should take lessons from Toyota on how to make an infotainment system usable. |

This modern trend of putting aluminum trim inside the cabin is not only ugly, it is dangerous. Why the hell would a manufacturer put something that will reflect light back into the driver's eyes directly in front of their operating position? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
On the cosmetic side of the issue, the aluminum strips are impossible to keep clean. They show finger prints terribly. So many manufacturers seem to think that bright trim sells cars. Maybe it does. But, it sure as hell makes them more difficult to use. Stupid. (There, glad I got that off my chest) |
