Designing a new bumper. Thoughts? The big hoop will be tipped back towards the grill some, just couldn't make it all work with the magnets. The front hoop will get notched to land flatter on the front. Hard to describe. Blue tape will be DOM once we get the rest sorted out.

The large front loops were called stingers and stuck out way far out front on an angle, not as popular of a look now especially on the street, but very functional offroad going off steep obstacles if your Jeep decided to try and flop on the roof it would keep you from flipping. A Reverse wheelie bar basically and they have to be strong enough to support the weight and the impact forces. |

View Quote The genright ain’t perfect though either, the main tube was welded off center slightly, and it’s too wide so I had to modify a few of the mounting bolts to actual fit them in. And because of that, I couldn’t use the bolt on factory style tow hooks included. So I have to wrap soft shackles around the tube for recovery points. I would have fixed it, but it’s aluminum, and I don’t have a tig machine. But damn it only weighs like 6lbs or so |

Probably a good thing you didn’t do Black Bear Pass. I want say we did but I'd need to check with my friends. We went up the switch backs to Engineer Pass. The last one was almost straight up into the Sun. I will say, having a group of 5 vehicles, made things easier. I felt like we had more control of when and where we passed on coming traffic. We even had a couple vehicles join our group. I was fine on those 2 trails but towards the end, found myself staring straight ahead and not enjoying the scenery. When I was younger I could get over it faster. Go do some repelling or something. |

I actually didn’t even see the grill hoop at first. The raw tubing blends in with the stingray paint. Nothing wrong with the grill hoop but I am just partial to the stubby with winch hoop for some reason. When I have actually changed bumpers that’s the style that I always end up with. I used Mealcloak on my TJs but never put bumpers on any of my JKs. For my JL I went with the factory style for now as I just don’t care for the look of the Metalcloak JL bumper. I don’t do anything crazy off-road or rock crawling anymore either or I may think differently on the style. Attached File Attached File |

Finally decided on new sliders from Greenlane Off-Road.
They mount in the same location as the factory rails so they should be more than strong enough to hold up to anything I’ll be doing, plus the aluminum will fare better against the frame-disintegration spray they use on the roads here in the winter. The main reason I’m switching out the factory rails is to get more of a step for the family. It’s not a huge deal now, but it will be once I get my lift and eventually 37s installed. And thanks to the exchange rate they were only $760 powder coated and shipped from America’s Hat. |

Hey, what do you think of the Territory's? I loved my Duratrac's on my other Jeep but I picked up a '17 Rubicon and it currently has the mud terrains on it. They suck ass in the wet. Was going to go Duratracs this fall but these do look promising. |

Other than one of my TJs I have run Duratracs on every Jeep I have owned. This go round the 35’s were on back order for months and months. I got frustrated and started looking for something different and across these tires. They are a Discount Tire exclusive but very similar to the Duratracs just slightly less aggressive tread. I’ve got about 5k on them so far and I can’t see any difference between them and the Duratracs. I have not done any off-roading to speak of but have done plenty of rain driving and no issues there. On the highway they are quiet and handling seems good. They balanced out well and I run 80+ every day like it’s nothing. So far I am very satisfied. If you do end up purchasing a set, download or sign up for activejunky. I had never heard of it until someone on another forum told me about it. They send you cash back if you buy through their app. I purchased those tires from Discount Tire Direct and got 10% off and they shipped them for free. They also among many other places had 4 wheel parts, eBay and some others on there. When I purchased my wheels it was 18% back at 4 Wheel Parts. I stacked some other discounts too and got a hell of a deal. My cash back check came this week and it was just under $900 bucks. Duratrac left Ultra right. Attached File |

Man, I must have got in on Duratracs at just the right time. After promotional and military discounts, I paid about $250 a piece out the door for 35x12.50R17s last Black Friday.
Then I had to wait another 3 months for the Method 703s to come back in stock. |

No, but because many of our close friends are either people we met in our Jeep group, or people who joined because of us, we had quite a few jeeps present. I've got an inch a half guard rail nut on a length of 550 cord. It's not whiz-bang tactical, but one smack in the grape and it's coloring books for Christmas.

I worked with a guy on Etsy to design and make them. He put them up as a listing but someone complained and Etsy removed the listings. I can send you his email if you’d like. |
