Headed out to test some camo patterns on my hunting AR. This thing was sweet on the trail man. Perfectly geared, never had to hit the brakes or the accelerator.

Getting the Jeep ready for my yearly trip to Ouray and Moab this July. For the long drive out there and back I've always wanted a way to carry my handgun without it being on my hip the whole time. I stumbled across this mount for the 2d JK from Molle Platform Solutions.
 Attached FileI then used the QLS detachable mount system from Safariland to be able to quickly attach/detach my holster to the mount. So far its a very sturdy mount, and even with the huge holster nothing gets in the way of the transfer case lever.  Attached File |

Added this to my driveway today. Flyer Pursue with off-road package. Has a rooftop Dometic a/c, Dometic fridge and Dometic stove in a slide out. Rhino 270 degree awning. Queen size mattress inside.

 Attached FileIn the last 2 weekends I’ve personally put in BDS 2.5” coils, Fox 2.0 shocks, Currie antirock sway bar, poison spyder BFH bumper, and 35x12.5x15 tires. It had a ford 8.8 Rear axle swap out of an explorer in it when I bought it. (I started with those mods, because I picked most of it up second hand from some buddies) Still need to do control arms (either bds or Currie) a Fox steering stabilizer, and maybe a super 88 rear axle kit.. I’m still between putting in a 44 front axle, or a super 30 axle kit with chromoly axle shafts.. Then I’m into deciding on either selectable lockers, or possibly a Detroit locker truetrac LSD. Oh, and also kicking around the idea of a Currie currectlync steering system. Stupid expensive hobby. |

Or you can do hi line fenders and a 1 inch body lift... that will set you up for a tummy tuck. Oh yea do a motor mount lift (MML) and it will A. Help your drive line and B. No pics of the whole Jeep but part of it, Found my exhaust leak(s) was expecting to find a cracked header (because Jeep) which is why i had already ordered up a new one. So i guess ill put the old header in the attic as a spare. I had put this gasket and header on about a year and a half ago.

Spent the week in Ouray. Rained every damn day. I was really hesitant to run some of the more spirited trails due to all the rain.
Completed Yankee Boy Basin without any drama. Well other than the traffic jam caused by an elderly woman who broke her ankle somehow while riding in the back of a "Jeep tour" type of vehicle. It’s the wife’s mall crawler. Oil changes and all other maintenance done at the dealer since the first 36,000 miles of maintenance was included. It also has a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper through them. Anyway, never abused and it needed a cylinder head at 33,000 miles?

It's interesting to hear people having issues with the 3.6. I've broken more than a few things on my '14 JKU but the motor has been rock solid even with boost thrown at it.

Only had 7800mi on my '18 jkur when I spotted oil on the garage floor. Required a new timing chain cover re-seal. Not a big deal but it gives me pause.
Still within the 3yr/36,000. If the new bronco doesn't wow me enough to trade in, I'll probably extend the 5yr/60,000 portion of my warrantee. |
