I was looking at scooters, then I saw tubular framed bikes that you strap a harbor freight engine to and have a less ghey looking scooter. Where do you get the kits? Anyone ever build one?

Scooters are like fat women. Fun to ride as long as your buddies don't see you.

My son and I run the wheels off this thing. Its a 6.5hp china made bike that pulls me around just fine and has held up well so far. Tractor supply sells them for around $600.

This thread sent me on a multi-hour, nostalgic web search for Stellar D mini bikes.  I came across others I knew of, too - Rupp, Taco, and others.

I don't consider these to even be a mini bike.  It's too sophisticated.  It's a mini motorcycle.  <-- no offence intended

This is a mini bike:

I did some more scouting around and found that for the price of the HF engines, alone, you can buy a complete, new mini bike, with suspension.

Don't have any pics of me on it, but I'm sure I look like one of those circus bears riding a tiny bicycle. It's the perfect bike for riding around city traffic, I'm never afraid of getting a speeding ticket though.

My buddy has a 49cc 2 stroke mini bike he picked up for $20 at a garage sale. We've been known to tear around his neighborhood on it. The neighbors always laugh and wave... a 6' 250 lb guy with a huge beard on a bike the size of a tricycle drifting around corners is apparently an amusing sight.

Rupp mini bike was what I cut my teeth on as a kid, parents still have our old Honda Trail 70 in the garage and might try and get it from them and get it road worthy again.

I saw a dude on one in traffic the other day and it looked like he was floating.  You could barely see the bike.
