| Hey all, looking for some help. I have a 1993 F150 with the 4.9l inline 6. Problem is a "miss" at idle and bucking / surging at mid to high throttle. It is getting worse over time (several months). It is throttle position dependent and not rpm dependent. I can change gears to make it more drivable but often have to run higher or lower rpm than I'd like. I have installed an EGR restriction plate and the engine does it with or without the vacuum line connected to the EGR (plugged when not connected). Doesn't do it when cold only once warm. Is it due to a lean condition (fuel) or spark? Is it likely plugs, wires, cap, rotor? or is it TPS or ECM? or maybe injectors? Any help appreciated. Thank you. |
