Hey, guys... Need some help here. We had to do a major transmission rebuild last week ($3500) on our 2006 Mazda MPV. We picked it up yesterday, and within minutes of driving it off the lot, the check engine light came on. That happens occasionally when the gas cap isn't tightened properly and we usually just get it cleared at Advance Auto Parts, but this time when we took it there they told us the error code is coming up with "barometric pressure sensor circuit high voltage". I have no idea what that means - I didn't even know cars HAD barometric pressure sensors. I'm taking the van back to the shop today and asking the guy if they knocked something loose when removing the transmission to rebuild it, but... is that likely? Where's this sensor, and could disconnecting or damaging it occur when doing major transmission work? I want to know what I'm talking about in case the guy tries to tell me it's just a coincidence and they ask me to pay for ANOTHER expensive repair. Thanks for your help! |
