The low pressure side of the A.C. is leaking thru the coolant filling port.

The schraeder valve seems to leak.....can the schreader valve be replaced in the same way (unscrewed) like it can in a tire?

Thanks!

You should have someone evaculate it.  Once its clear, the valve can be swapped.

The valve can be replaced, the right way to do it is have it evacuated 1st, replace the valve, a vacuum pulled on the system and recharged.

That's the 'low' side fitting; indeed, it is a schrader valve.  However, the seal is of a different compound than are tire valves; that being said, you'll need the specific R134a (refrigerant) compatible schrader valve... should be available at any auto parts retailer.  CAUTION:  compressed refrigerant systems are under pressure, even when not in operation.  Have your car's system evacuated by a mechanic prior to performing any maintenance

Find out what your mechanic(I'm assuming you will be going to a mechanic) that will be evacuating the system will charge to replace the valve while its at the shop, especially if you are going to take it back to be recharged.  No sense in making multiple trips if the dollars spent to have the mechanic do it all in one stop aren't too high.
