Thinking about running AMSOIL in my 2011 6.7 Ford Diesel.  Anyone use it?  Any feedback?  Other brands I may want to look at?

Yeah, genuine Motorcraft 10w30 HD and a FL-2051 every 5,000 miles, or Motorcraft 5-40 full synthetic for 7,500 miles.

Extended drain intervals with Scams oil are bad for DPF regen engines.

I use it in my Dodge/Cummins (non DPF/non egr, 2001 model) and with oil analysis I am running about 40k per oil change. No problems at all in 10 years. I did run straight dino oil for 15k to let the rings and seals seat in before I switched to synthetic.

I run the 15w40 Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine, which is a 12TBN full synthetic diesel

I have a by pass oil filter that I change every 10-15k and I change my full flow filter every 5k. Oil analysis every 5-7k always comes back good for continued use, I change when TBN (total base number) is less than 1/2 of the new oil TBN.

May want to do some more research on your truck/engine as YMMV, lol.

I have been using amsoil in all of my vehicles for the past 5 years and I like it. I change the oil in my 03 duramax once a year (approx 10k miles or less) and every 7500 in the wifes car. Their oil filters are the best on the market and are worth the price. The biggest complaint I have with them is pricing. I am a dealer and I Still think their pricing is high. I get an update every 6 months or so on how they have to increase their prices due to oil going up. I realize its just the nature of the beast but it just sucks. There would be no way I could afford their oil if I was not a dealer.

I have been thinking about moving over to rotella T synthetic for a few reasons.
1. Its located here locally and I dont have to order it
2. Its cheaper in price.
3. Its good oil

I've been using Amsoil in my bikes for about 9 years, I like it, no issues, except the pricing.  When I burn through the current case I have, I'll probably be looking for something else.

I used the Rotella T synthetic in my last truck, 187,000 miles no probs.

I use Amsoil in both of my cars, but keep the change interval at 3,000 miles since they're both raced on occasion.  It's pricy, but seems to get the job done.

I used to use Amsoil and used to be a dealer just to get the good pricing.

Now, all I use is the Amsoil EaFD-100 or -110 bypass filter on my 6.0 PSD.

Better pricing and just about as good an oil is the Shell Rotella synthetic available at any Walmart in the country.

Don't go over 5k miles without a bypass filter.

Good luck.

Mobil 1 seems to work just fine for me, Amsoil is ridiculously expensive.

I use Amsoil in my R6 and offroad bikes until I switched to RotellaT for the offroad stuff.

Not when run the way it supposed to, which is with extended oil drain intervals. I run it 40k miles (13.33 oil changes at 3k/change) in my cummins. I have a by pass filter which gets changed every 10-15k and i change my full flow every 5k.

Using Mobil 1 diesel oil as an example at 29.99 per gallon (at oreillys auto) with 3 gallons needed per change equaling 89.97 per change times 13 changes equals 1169.61 instead of the $150 in Amsoil for the same mileage (40K). Even working in the cost of filters, analysis and my bypass system (which is more than paid for in extended change intervals savings) I still come out quite abit ahead over the same Mileage as changing with any other oil at 3 or even 5 k intervals.

Have you tried running the mobil 1 while doing the analysis the same as the amsoil?

I have a hunch it will last just as long.

I have not and it may, no need to fix what is not broken ( in my case atleast).

Any idea what the TBN and the additive package is for the Mobil One?
