I have a 3 year old Dodge Ram with 2 batteries. On one of the batteries, the nut holding the connector on is starting to show corrosion.

What do you do to maintain the connections and is there anything to do to maintain the batteries?

Mix up a little baking soda and water to get rid of the corrosion.

You can put a coat of dielectric grease (or Vaseline) on the terminal to keep it from coming back.

I've heard it's best to stick with dielectric silicone grease since if it gets on rubber parts under the hood, it won't degrade them like vaseline can.

But yeah, a baking soda and water solution and a brush will clean things up.

I have a tub of Permatex Copper Anti-Seize Lube, will that work?

No, it's conductive.

One of the easiest and simplest things you can do to keep a wet cell battery in good shape is to frequently clean the case, particularly the area between the posts.
Crap that builds up on the surface can lead to shorting of the terminals.

Go to Napa and get a tube of Silicone grease.
