I found a 2006 Chevy 2500 crew cab lt1 4x4. It has 30000 miles and is very clean. The dealer is asking $23,300. Would a offer of $22,000 out the door be unrealistic?

As of right now I drive a 2010 Cobalt SS. While I like the car and its a blast to drive I miss having a truck. Right now I owe about $6000 more then what trade in is worth but I have a $4000 down payment. Would I be better off keeping the car and using the down payment and buying a older model used truck? Gas mileage wont be a concern as I have a s10 and a motorcycle as daily drivers.

if he takes it then it is not. but dont be surprised if he declines. the dealer doesnt keep the taxes. i am a used car dealer and can tell you that the bigger the lot, the higher the markup. i dont get insulted by offers, its a starting point. as long as the customer is reasonable, i take their offer. but yes your offer would be a little low. thats a bunch of taxes on 20grand.
