After driving myself and my wife crazy for the last month looking at trucks, talking myself out of buying something then into buying something..I found this while test driving a 2010 Silverado at the local dealership. Well..I made an hour drive to another town and pulled the trigger again..on this.  08 GMC Sierra SLE. It has 12k more miles on it but still has warranty remaining. More options, it doesn't have a bunch of scratches all over it like the black one does, I get free safety inspections from the dealer for as long as I own it and a full tank of gas. On the road with extended warranty for $1700 more then I offered for the black truck. The owner of the dealership that screwed me around on the black truck lives up the road from me...guess what I'm parking on my lawn by the road tonite.   2008. 25k miles on it. LT trim package. Has the 5.3 16 valve engine. Still has warranty on it and is unbelievably clean for around here. Zero corrosion on the rims..and I got 4 steel rims in the deal for winter driving. I've only bought 3 cars from a dealer in my life and my problem is..when I find "the one" I want it and I can't do the walk away and leave it for a week thing. All in all I think I did okay.  |

Well I took the day off work to go to the bank,etc. Took the check out to the dealership and was informed that the price / payment I was quoted DIDN'T include the tax. When he quoted me the payment(s) I asked "on the road?". Owner said yes. Funny thing is..the payments at the bank were with in 5 dollars of what he quoted me and it was for the amount I had the check for. So if I had bought it at the asking price it would have been damn near 30K.. I felt sorry for the salesman as he's a friend..the owner of the dealership I went to school with and he is an arrogant jerk. but I believe in supporting your local businesses.. So needless to say..the truck is still there and I'm looking again.  |
