Help! The rain is coming.
Yes, I tried the search function. I've had the truck six months. 2003 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab. I hit the express down button, both front windows go down fine. Latter I try to put them up. RF (passenger) window is stuck down. I tried the rear right widow also, it won't move. I tried all the power window switchs, no right side windows movement. Next, I switched the 25 amp left power window circuit breaker with the right. Left windows still work! So the circuit breakers (fuse) are good. So is there a fusible link I'm missing? If the RF window motor is bad, why doesn't the RR window work? What am I missing? Thanks! |

The drivers side master switch is actually a module that sends a signal to the Body Control Module which activates the motors.
Chances are that the drivers side module is gone but you can't just throw another one in,it has to be programmed at the dealer. You can however check it by using a known good one from another truck like yours (have any friends with a similar truck?). Could also be a bad BCM,but I haven't seen this on the trucks very often. The cars and Trailblazers are terrible about the BCMs going out though. Something quick to try is to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes or so and see if it can reboot the BCM.It won't cost anything and won't hurt anything and it just might get your windows back up. Or just break out the plastic and duct tape
Good luck |
| My 2002 Sierra does this. It got stuck down on the coldest day of the year as I rolled the window down to grab a ticket at a toll booth. I had to pull off the highway and take the whole door panel off to get the darn thing to go back up. I still haven't got around to fixing it. Hopefully you find a solution to save me some work haha. |

No grinding noise. If it was the motor/regulator the rr (rear right) window should work. Something had to happen away from home, tools and parts on a holiday weekend.
The module/switch is $197 and add $90 to program it. I wish it was the $30 motor/regulator. Thanks for the help. |

did the control panel on the drivers side get wet? i had some water get on mine one day and the damn thing wouldnt work till it dried out. if your regulator was bad it would only cause a malfunction at that particular window and not both. you could also have a loose wire coming out of the control panel and or going into the passenger side doors. does the window move if you use the passenger side controls? do you hear a click when you hit either controls buttons?? |

Thank God for Auto Zone! I was able to borrow a code reader. There is another fuse under the hood, a 50 amp ($5) J fuse was bad. That after ripping the doors apart and testing everything with a cheap voltage meter. I should be home in three days.
Thanks for the help. |
