I'm considering getting a masters in operations management and want to see opinions on its value. I work for a Fortune 500 company as an operations manager. My undergrad is in business.

This program is 30 credits and each class operates in 8 week blocks. It's very flexible in that I can take every course online or every course on campus (30 mins away) or mix and match. I enjoy school and know that I would like it on a personal level aside from possible career benefits. But my biggest concern is that I have a full time job and a family. So the next 1-2 years could be hectic?

Based on my undergrad grades I don't need a GRE/GMAT which is a plus and I've already met the pre-reqs in my undergrad. So thoughts?

I am 2 classes away from getting my Masters in Administration of Justice. I did a mix of online and physical classes. I like the online ones since you can work on it when you want to. I used to get a lot of work done on Sunday mornings. It didn't effect my family life too badly since the online stuff was so flexible.

The three classes I took where I had to actually go to class sucked....but it was only one night per week.

Best of luck to you.

Give Lynda.com or even KhanAcademy a try first and see how you do in an online environment.

Treat it like you would a "real" class, see how you do, then decide if the online environment is good fit for your lifestyle.

The questions I would  have is what is the cost of school? 30k? 80K? more? Does the Fortune 500 company you work  at have any employee perks like tuition assistance?

What is potential job outlook, will the potential pay raise pay for school? Could you get the same job in another 2 years with work experience?

I'd look at the ROI before I made any decisions.
