This could very well be a dumb questionI have heard a lot about the dollar dying, not being the reserve currency any more. My question is what is going to be the new "dollar"?

I was taliking to a financial planner about this not too long ago.  There's nothing out there more stable than the dollar to replace it.

My Craptacular '97 Tahoe was once really nice.  Over the years it has had some issues and all the major ones I addressed enough to keep my truck rolling.  Now it is a perfectly fine driving automobile but the paint is chipped and faded, the door handle is broken, AC is out, and it rusty.  It isn't worth much anymore.  It isn't pretty.  But it is my truck and I still drive it.  That is the dollar.  We all owned it.  We didn't treat it very well.  It isn't worth nearly what it should be.  It is still our dollar and it is all this world has.  It will remain the world's reserve money simply because it is the skinniest fat guy, the smartest idiot, the shiniest polished turd.  Most countries will continue to use it as a reserve currency the same way I will continue to use my truck.  They will use it, they just wont be happy about it.
