I did, never got an answer back from the POCs.  I think that the previous BCT made that and the new one is kinda letting it fester.

That's too bad.  I see that happening myself.  I'm at Camp Phoenix, if you need something.  I have nothing to do with TF Phoenix ETT guys though.

Just an email address to anybody in the J-3 shop.  Any chance you could walk in and ask?

Moved me from one to another.  Deployment came up and I basically told the general I was going either as a civilian or military.  his call.
Once you get pigeonholed into "Homeland Security" its damn near impossible to get out.

I'm with TFP VII on a PMT in the Western part of the country. Spotty net connection, but can try to answer questions if I can.
Yes, our guys have let the website go un-updated, not sure why.....

Don't really have a question, just want to get in touch with some MFIC so I can lock down a mission.  IE ANA in RC East and not get bitched out with ANP in North like our last team.

diggerwolf,

His (Sylvan) telling a general something may be a little different then you or I (I am a NCO) since he is a Major... at least that is what his (Sylvan) Military Signature shows...

I don't know Sylvan, I didn't know he is a Major, but I was a Major too.

I don't know what service that big dipper patch represents, but in the Marine Corps, Majors do not give ultimatums to Generals. Somehow I doubt that happens in his service either. I'm calling BS.

In the guard and reserve, even AGR, it is quite easy.

I an a CW2 and often tell O-6/O-7's how it is going to be more often than most folks would think.

It would be quite easy, when you are good, and haven't been deployed, to say "Sir, either I go over in uniform, or I am going to get out and go as a civilian."

If they want to retain you, they will make it happen.

Guard is different.
You don't have to believe me, really doesn't matter if you do or not.
I have been stuck in non-deployable spots since 2003 and have already quit one job to deploy (went from texas to oregon on my own dime) but that unit got yanked off TPFD and rolled into ONE III.
Now I am in Alaska.  But you can always find work someplace else.

I talk to my BG fairly regularly.  TWice when he turned me down for deployment, he said I was in a critical slot for homeland defense and that I would get the next one.  Well, this was my last, "next one"
Anyway.
Stay safe!

Fair enough, I didn't even consider the Guard. I stand corrected.

Active duty, I don't think getting a deployment would be a problem

You have what are known as Active Army Advisors in the Guard units.

Do they deploy with you?

The last time my unit had an Active advisor was 7 years ago during our train up for JRTC. I haven't seen one since.

I haven't seen an AC/RC advisor in the last few years, but ours did deploy with us in 05/06. In fact he had come out on the E8 list and was promoted while he was stop lossed with us, so they moved him from the training NCO slot to a 1SG slot in another company.

Sylvan, is TF Phoenix headquartered at Camp Phoenix, AFG?

If so, they're about 400 meters south of me right now. I am over there a few times a week and can stop in and get phone numbers and/or email addresses if you need them. Let me know.

The Army/Marine joint PMT mission is drawing to a close as the 2/7 Marines preps to head home. The Army PMTs under the 2/7 are all slowly being drawn back to Kandahar, and for the second year i'll be working out of RC South.
