Anyone know if there are any restrictions on shipping a computer (laptop) in and out of theater?

I ask because I am going to buy a new laptop for my upcoming deployment and I am considering getting a 2-3 year replacement warranty..now I would have to ship it home and have my wife take it back, but before I spend the extra on the extended warranty just wanted to see if shipping is ok from a customs stand point, not from a breaking it standpoint  as I plan to ship in a pelican case if need be.

I thought some said they had problems shipping a scope in and out so wanted to be sure

There are no problems that I am aware of.  I, as well as several buddies, have brought ours in and out of theater without any problems.  Several also had to ship theirs home to get it repaired, and had them sent back without any problems.  I'd just make sure you pack it well, as who knows how much it will get thrown around...but it sounds like you've planned for that.

I'd consider buying insurance if/when you ship it.

If you have any more questions, feel free to send me a message.
