| I'm due to be deployed to Iraq in April and was wondering who here has done back to back deployments. One of my Corporals was telling me tat I can do it if I want to but I just have to get my CO to sign off on it. It'd be 7 months, come home for 2 weeks, then go back for another 7 months. Any thoughts? |

That's a not a "back-to-back" deployment man. That's one deployment with leave in the in the middle. I arrived in Iraq in October 2006; went home on leave in Feb/Mar 2007. My unit wrapped up in Ramadi/Falluja in September and I moved to another unit in the South. Amd scheudled to be here till next August, all though I suspect I will be out earlier. |

Don't know about the rest of the country but where I'm at, all the Army does is our Laundry and Showers. All the patrols and ops are done by Marines. Happy Birthday by the way. Semper |
Don't know where you are but that is clearly not the majority of Iraq or Afghanistan. The Marines were pretty aggressive in their patroling - - Right behind Army Route Clearance.
