Trying to locate a Guard unit that shipped from Mississippi to Wisconsin (Ft. McCoy) for training, then shipped out to Afghanistan about ten days ago.....The write-up in the local paper id'd the unit as the 2nd-287th MAC out of Lucedale, MS. I found a chain of command chart showing them under the 168th Engineering Brigade, but both have been "transformed" according to the flow chart....It's a Combat Engineering unit and I'm trying to find a buddy. Where can I go to look up deployed units..??...Any help would be appreciated. |

Long lost buddy that you have no contact info for, google won't bring up his home phone number or family's phone number/address?
Contact Rear-D or the FRG. They should have a webpage or a facebook page. If you're someone associated with the unit, they'll let you have the info. Some less than stellar rear-d/FRGs are a little more free with their info. Also, if they left for Trashcanistan 10 days ago, they probably aren't at their final destination yet. Unless they are going to a major hub and staying there––––––I've been in the Army 18 years and have no clue what a "MAC" is. |

Maybe I should be a little more succinct....Apparently 287th MAC out Lucedale, MS, has been re-designated/transformed/re-named/whateverthehellyouwanttocallit and I'm trying to identify the chain of command/general location/APO of this unit....the mission is in support of the 2nd Engineering Battalion out of Ft. Hood, according to press release... I know the Army is good, but it shouldn't be too hard to find the unit address for 200 guys in a combat engineering company.... |

If they are doing RCP, they'll be spread out amongst several different FOBs. |
