Do we not have one going?

Will this count?

This has been one helluva month.

Is Bartman a member here?  Can we get his account locked?

You know the Cubs were fully capable of winning even with Bartman's catch. They just did what they always do, they choked.

I welcome the BoSox winning the Series, and I hope the Cubs do too. That will shut up the two biggest groups of whiners in sports.

Cubs look like a lock for the NL Central.  Your next series is with Fla? That should be another sweep.

Good luck in post season.

(Until the Series, then I hope my Angels kick your ass!)

Go Cubs!!!  Keep the faith.

Cubs have 7 games left, 3 against Fla, and 4 with Cin. Both teams have losing records.

The Brewers also have 7 games left, STL for 3, and their last 4 are against a pretty red hot San Diego.

The magic # for the Cubs is only 4...I'd say you are in a pretty solid place.  I'd guess that you might be the first NL team to clinch your division.

The Angels just did that today. Its a very good feeling!

I can't believe we let Florida have that second inning.

Ahh well, can't win 'em all.

Brewers won too.

No big deal. Any combination of them losing two, and the Cubs winning two will get you the title.

I wish our Manager would focus on home field. He is resting all of our best players, and we've dropped 2 in a row to Texas.

The Cleveland/Seattle game is in the 12th, and I've got fingers crossed for a Seattle victory, so we stay close. Boston won, so its all close very close in the AL. I REALLY don't want Boston first round, with them having home field, in a best of 5 series.

eta: Cleveland won.

Well...

A mixed day for your Cubs.

They did lose, but so did the Brewers, bringing your number to 3!

Angels are still resting most of the good players, especially pitchers.

We got swept by Texas, and they killed us today 16-2.

Cubs lost again...

But so did the Brewers, bringing your magic number to 2!

Angels didn't lose...

Because they had the day off.

It sure doesn't give you a warm, fuzzy feeling - getting swept by a last place team when you are on the doorstep of the post-season.

Eight (8) teams in the NL still vying for a playoff spot! The Brewers are knocking on the door and the Mets are melting down. The Phillies are now tied for first place in the NL East. Who woulda thunk it?

Damn that Keppinger can hit.

Too bad the rest of his team sucks.

EDIT:  Woohoo!  Double play to end the game, and San Diego just pulled ahead of Milwaukee.

BTDT. Texas??

The only warm fuzzy then, was knowing we had already clinched. It was pretty embarassing. We did win tonight, with most of our normal players, and one of the good pitchers in. It seems like forever since we've won a game!

Your Cubs did it today!

Well... you did have help from those the red hot Padres.

I LOVE that the Mets are a game back, and have really no chance at the wild card, if they don't get their division.

You know...it WAS a good day in baseball!

In 1964 the Last Place Mets clobbered the sinking Phillies in a game something like 10-0.  They ended either in 2nd or 3rd; I can’t remember which right now. The Cardinals won everything in the end.  This year Philly is going to the Playoffs and the Mets (pronounced Mess) are in panic mode.  And the Mess were such a terror until the All Star game.

The only game I got to see in St.Louis this year was verse the Angles, and the Cards got their asses handed to them. It sure wasnt our year.

That said, they technically still are theWorld Champions till the world series is over.

I was shocked when I saw the Cubs doing well. For years they've looked like a little-league team.
This is like seeing the Royals late in the post-season.

It's a good feeling. Now, if only the bears would step it back up.

Go Cubs!

The Los Angeles Angels of St Louis:

Jeff Weaver (now with the Mariners)
Jim Edmonds
David Eckstein
Scott Spiezio
Adam Kennedy
Russ Springer

Wow, a whole 2 of eight starting position players. Three of the eight were Cardinals their entire Major League career.

In an era of free agency, such is life.

ETA: Not to mention Spiezio came up with Oakland, and played in Seattle prior to coming to STL. Percival was in Detroit prior to STL.

Adam Kennedy was on neither the 2006 nor 2007 STL roster.
Nor was Russ Springer.

Weaver spent more time in LA than Anaheim. He spent more time in New York and Detroit than Anaheim too.

Jim Edmonds  He has been with StLouis since 2000 longer than any other current player, he is "Mr. Cardinal"

David Eckstein We are thrilled to have him, why did you ever let him go? How many doubles did he hit in the series last year?

Scott Spiezio Again, thrilled to have him, phenomenal utility man

Adam Kennedy I think I heard of him once....cant wait till he leaves (wasnt part of 2006 team)

Russ Springer Who? :shrugs:

Troy Percival Well...Cardinals management does have a habit of picked up washed up middle relievers, the man had officially retired for Gods sake!

Was at the game,   , I gave my ticket to our very good firend. She takes my wife and I to a lot of Cubs games.

Well she got her own tickets, and my wife sprung the ticket on me on the way to move some furniture at her sisters house.  She even packed me some Cubs clothes for the game.  A real sneaky one , my wife.  She gave me a big suprise.

Happy as shit wife and sis- inlaw take me up to the game while they watch at a bar.

Fucking Cubs, when will I ever learn?

Maybe next year.

Maybe when the Cubs fans grow up and stop throwing homeruns back onto the field and stop blaming everyone else for their troubles, like Bartman and the Billy Goat, they'll go somewhere in the post season.

I blame the players, not some other shit.

Bartman didn't lose the game in 03, it was Gonzo, and the rest choking.  We were SRO at the game.

Last night was the worst game I have ever seen played.  Looked  like we had short outfielders,  counting on backup from a properly placed outfielders.  I gotta go for now , my little girl got back from Grand ma's .
