I saw that. They have really tricked that pony up this time. You will get a 6th pick in case one of your starting five crashes out, extra points for picking the pole sitter and a few other goodies.
I so miss the old ESPN game.

So they are trying to look smart about aero when most of the gains are suspension related. What about the air under the car also.

At the Daytona 500?  Nope.  They changed engines after the qualifying races.

Are they going to run the Clash, the qualifiers, and the race on the same motor or are the Clash (Shootout, whatever) cars separate?

I would assume the Clash is treated separately since it doesn't have anything to do with season points or qualifying for the 500.

A guy that's raced for at least 25 years (me) has to prove himself before he could even sit his ass in the seat of a truck.

And people wonder why I think NASCAR is a fucking joke

Yes it could be better, but it sure as fuck beats watching a bunch of felons running around on a field playing grab ass.

You missed a generation mother fuckers.

If the Pepsi "Generations" superbowl ad is going to go get Jeff Gordon why the fuck aren't they including Darrel Waltrip?

Maybe they still remember how their sales dropped sponsoring the Mouth of the South and they had to set Michael Jackson on fire in an attempt to win back Southern male NASCAR fans as customers?

Today I went and stood in line for almost 3.5 hours to meet Martin Truex Jr. and get a hat autographed! Scheduled appearance time was 3:00-5:00 today. I got there about 2:15. The line was already wound through the store and out the door.

For a little while, they were telling people in my section of the line that we probably wouldn't make it before the 5:00 done time. A bunch of people bailed, including a few who brought various body panels from wrecks for him to sign.

I decided to stick around and see what would happen. A little while later they announced that he would extend his appearance for one hour. I got to him at 5:35

By that time, he wasn't chatting or posing for photos anymore, just signing stuff as fast as he could. I had just enough time to wish him and his wife well with her cancer fight.

Nice! It's cool he stuck around an extra hour for the fans, even if he had to stop doing photos and talking as much.

He seems like a really good dude. I'm going to try and make it out to Colorado this year to visit a buddy of mine I haven't seen in years. Hopefully, we'll be able to swing by Furniture Row and tour the shop. Not sure if they do that sort of thing, but I want to try.

A day late and a dollar short if you ask me. IMHO this may have cost Matt a ride this year. I don't really care for this rule but it does appear it helped cut down on the "Phantom" cautions, especially late in a race.
