When moving my mouse, the pointer skips or blinks, then reappears somewhere else. Usually when i am on the edge of the screen.

If it has a ball underneath, take it out and clean the rollers.

If it is optical....?

If wireless move the ant around and see if that helps

Did you look in the mouse control panel to check all the settings?  There are some odd settings you can turn on that seem to be useless IMO, but someone thought to put them there. Some have more settings than others.

If your CPU is busy crunching bits to run your computer, your mouse tracking will suffer at times.  Either clean up your system to make it run faster or get more RAM
