In our department our IT people can obtain control of any computer with
the click of the mouse and authorization of the current user. Is this software available to the public. Here is the reason. My parents are in their 70's and not very computer literate. I live between 500 to 1000 miles depending on the time of year. I get calls all the time to fix problems on their computer. I would like to take control of their computer to fix it. Just wondering. Thanks ETA Title Change |

I use it on my desktop at home––works great for time when I need to email myself something from the computer at home. The free version is fine. You can pay for versions that will let you transfer files and stuff. |

You will hopefully have to setup their router (they are behind a router and firewall, aren't they?) to allow access from your system to theirs. Make sure to limit access to your IP (or range of IPs if you are on dynamic).
You may also want to do the same with remote access to their router so that you can get in and turn it on and off when needed. |
