Ehh....  this may be the wrong website for linux-on-ps3 stuff.  But we'll give it a shot.

I've actually considered doing it myself just for kicks.

What happens when you try to view?

Wine will let you run windows programs.

It's not perfect.

And it only works on x86 processors.

I think the PS3 has a type of PowerPC processor so it wont work.

THe PS 3 and XBOX 360 both use the PPC  CELL processor.  Shame people keep buying into the lie that CISC architecture(Intel).

You might want to take a look at the XMBC Project, it won't work on the PS3, but it does on the original Xbox from what I read.

Which lie

We've conducted several in-house head-to-head comparisons of Power, SPARC & Intel for apps like Websphere & Oracle - Linux on Intel has bested the proprietary architectures every time so far on straight up performance comparing similar configs (same core counts & memory footprints). Plus it does it for a lot less $$$.

Maybe the PPC is good for gaming tho

RISC is more efficient  and makes better use of the processor and RAM .  But hey it is an X86 world unfortunately I will sadly admit it.
