I picked up one of these not too long ago and really like it. I have had good luck previously with ASUS until now. I started it up yesterday and it told me to insert a boot disk. Also, I can hear a "ticking" sound from the hard drive. I assume my HD crashed. Anyone here have any experience with ASUS tech support/service center? Or any other advice? |

Hrm.
That doesn't sound good. If you know anything about Linux, you could install a "thumbdrive distro" onto a thumbdrive and boot from that. From there you should be able to know for sure if the hard drive is toast. If it is, try to get it fixed by warranted if possible. |
