Every time I open Explorer the window comes up really small. It just started doing this. Usually it come up maximized. How do I fix this?

Open IE, maximize it or click and drag the corner to make it the size you want. Click "file", then click either "close" or "close tab", whichever you have. Re-open IE and it should be the same size as when you closed it.

Now, while you have IE open, go to mozilla.com and download Firefox.

I did what you said, except the Firefox thing. Now when I open Explorer it comes up maximize, but when I click a link to open into a new window it does the same thing.

Correct answer: stop using IE (use Firefox or even Chrome instead)

Answer you want: don't maximize the IE window; rather, open IE and drag the unmaximized window to the size you want (as big as you can make it in this case).  Close and reopen IE.  New windows that open should then be the same size as the original.  Now stop using IE.

Ok I tried this and now the window comes up right, but now half the time it freezes up. The window not the computer. WTF!!!

I'm going to download Firefox tonight and see where that gets me.

I downloaded Firefox and wow what a difference.

It is much faster than Explorer. How come y'all didn't tell me this before?

What addons do you recommend?

The firefax downloading is optional. Windows are tiled so you know that new windows is opend over the previous one. In option there is setting to change it: open in new window thingy. I like FFox too,
