ok,last night i ripped my old pc apart to give it a cleaning.everything went good.i re hooked everything.double checked all the connections.everything looked good to go.
go to fire it up,and only the fans fire.no HDD,video card ,ect,ect,just the fans.
ok,i missed something.ripped apart again.triple checked everything.fire it back up,and still the same.only the fans fire.
i`ve ripped this old beast apart many many times.i know it inside and out.
but i have no idea wtf the problem is
it`s a 4 year old presario 2.6ghz pent.d
everything was running fine before i ripped it.now nothing

Try to boot up with the least number of devices possible.

This would mean mobo, cpu, 1 stick of ram, and the video card if you don't have on-board video on the mobo.

Also make sure the mobo is properly secured to the chassis and check for shorts.

alright,i`ll give that a try.
someone else was telling me it might be the power supply...so i`m going to check that out aswell

i`m starting to think the mobo might be fried.
i cleared cmos.unhooked everything but mobo, cpu, 1 stick RAM, psu, vid card...still the same.
so i swaped out power supplies..still the same..swaped out vid cards..still the same
i`m going to go buy a cheap wally world tower*e-machine*for like 400 bucks..ripp the old HDD out and copy the files over to the new drive.then take the old tower to the range hahaha
