| I have a question. In my house I've been moving my DSL modem between my XBox & comp because I don't want to a router. Is it bad to unplug/turn off my modem and move it between rooms and force it to reestablish connestion 3-4 times a day? Will this "wear it out"? Also, is it safe to leave it on with the comp on all night or will leave my comp unprotected and open? |

this would be alot easier if you DID purchase a router. 1. you wouldn't have to move the modem all the time, you could just need to run a cable to the computer or to the xbox 2. it would have basic firewall protection, so it would be safe to leave it on 24/7 either way i don't think moving the modem would wear it out. modems are cheap around a hundred bucks |
