Alrighty, heres the situation. I upgrade my computer based on availability of older parts and money constraints...
currently I have two processers and two motherboards..
an asrock motherboard I bought a couple years ago and a Gigabyte motherboard that is a couple years old as well.. I know for a fact the gigabyte can handle more speed, both MOBOs are dual channel. for my asrock I have two gigs of dual channel PC 2300 (i think) for the gigabyte I have a gig of PC4400.

my choice of processers is either an AMD 64 bit 939 pin 3200, or a 939 pin amd 64 dual core 4200.

I am considering the gigabyte MOBO, with the older 2 gigs of ram until I can get a second gig of the pc4400... paired up with the 4200 and a 300 gig SATAII hard drive I have.

my question, how much faster will the 4200 be compared to the old 3200 in idiots terms?
not much or a noticeable amount?

ideally I'd buy a bunch of new, top of the line stuff but lets face it.. Im an E-5 with a family to take care of. lol.

"upgraded" it. went with the gigabyte plus the 4200 dual core and XP64 (suck my ass vista!)

finally got BF2 running again and boy does it scream now!

I need a soundcard though.. running onboard sound is gay... this ANDY Samurai Master heat sink is fucking awesome though.

the old hard drive is running slave so I can slowly transfer files, after that I might wipe it and use for music storage... then again my main mobo is 500 gig.
