My company finally got around to giving us a better working VPN connection, but I have a couple newbie questions.

For the longest time they would only give us access to the remote desktop and network drives, no access to my local c drive due to 'security concerns'. NOw they have configured it so we can access my local c drive.

When I am using the VPN to access the remote desktop, my C drive shows up similar to a network drive in windows explorer. Is this normal?

If I have a program that is only installed on the C drive, I can not access it from the remote desktop. Is this normal?

thanks for any advise

Sounds to me like it's normal. When I use the VPN and have my local drives shared they pick up new drive letters on my work machine. Obviously you can't have two C drives. Does the local app need internet access? If not just toggle desktops.
