I am setting up a security camera system for my son. I have a free PC running Ubuntu Linux. We will put a 750Gig freestanding hard drive in his safe for storage. Let them steal the PC thinking they stold the video. We want 2 indoor and 2 outdoor cameras. Can I record all 4 channels as separate video or do I need a 4in1 type setup. The hardware I think I need is: PC with Key board and monitor...free Cameras..................................400.00? Hard drive 750 Gig.....................200.00 Video card.................................100.00 Brand names and links would be appreciated. For software I could run Freevo or one of the other Linux DVR programs. Any hot tips there? |
