I always liked going there. They were the only place in town I could find EVERYTHING I needed for my computer. Of course, I'm not an urban commando either. ![]() So where are you guys getting your stuff? Besides online, because when my power source burned up, there was no way to even get online, nor did I want to wait for shipping. Fry's? Ultimate Electronics? Where? Please don't say Best Buy.... that place SUCKS. edited for 'speeling.'

I know you said besides online, but the vast majority of my tech gear comes from newegg.com. It's cheaper, shipping is nearly instant, and it's a company that doesn't insult my intelligence. For local stuff I'm fortunate to live near a MicroCenter. I won't deny that I've picked stuff up at BestBuy, but only when I have no other option. I once went on a trip and forgot my laptop power supply, so I manned up and went to the nearest Best Buy. Apart from that, NFW I'm supporting that merchant of fail. |
Bahh, when they closed the one here in town last year, the clearance prices sucked. And the prices were high to begin with so %20 off of high prices is only a decent price. Not a great price!!! |
+1 on Microcenter. before I broke into the corporate IT world in '97, I'd worked for them for three years. I go to the Columbus OH store frequently. Interesting thing is that there are at least 6-7 sales guys that are still there from my days, and the Manager now was the Asst. there. You don't see longevity like that in most other retail stores. They take care of and train their sales force well. |

I've gotten a couple things from NewEgg (my monitor was a smokin' deal!) But if I can't get online, then I'm out of luck with them. I lost my power source and picked one up at CompUSA. Lost my video card, and picked one up there as well. My back up fan is toast, and I'll have to swing by and get one in their liquidation sale. No MicroCenter here.... I've never heard of it.
Brat. I'll fix it. I'm sure there are computer repair shops somewhere, but I prefer to fix things (other than programming **sigh** I guess I'll just have to default to my brother when it comes time to pick stuff up from now on. |
