I managed to figure out and fix my browser and email problems.
Now, since I went from Win2000Pro to XP Home a lot of programs won't work.
Is there and easy painless way to get them up, or am I just going to have to reinstall them?

if you did an inplace upgrade, that may be the cause of your problems. a fresh install (after backing up all of your data of course) might be in order.

I should have came back and posted again.
I did a clean install on a second hard drive in my computer.
I resolved the problems. It came from downloading an earlier version of Netscape. I had been using NS 7.2, and downloaded NS 7.0. I actually got my email working with Outlook Express and after downloading NS 7.2 for XP just imported my settings.
I am still fixing a few small glitches- most come from me barely knowing what I am doing.
My biggest agravation now is the programs I use, like ASdobe Acrobat Reader was installed on the other hard drive with Win2000Pro. I can't locate the .exe file so I am downloading fresh versions for the XP.

I have tried running the programs in compatability mode with no good results. It is probably because the new OS is on a different HD from the programs.

I have the biggest problems fixed. Most now come from having miltiple users (family) on the same computer. I have to set up access, which is actually easy with XP. Right now I have it setup so I am the only one who can install programs.

Thanks,
Jim
